Hi People! This is Robert (-PartTimeCampPhotographer-MassDanceInstructor-CampfireSongIC-SeniorButVeryYoungLaoJiao-) from NPSU.FOC.0910.Camp.Egypt! I do sincerely Hope you guys still have a vague memory of Me. =)
As promised in this site, is the photo and video links to the media content taken at Our Egypt Camp, and I hope that all of you would appreciate the time, effort and personal monies that I have invested, for this last memorable gift from me-to-you, despite some minor mishaps that happened along the way.
One of the few main reasons that I do come back for FOC, is of hopes that there won't be an another repeat of what I had experienced, in my FOC, as a Freshie. In the past, FOC photos were of those taken on the very last day, where you had only the family photos to remember by (But each had to cost you SGD$12 each..), and there were none what-so-ever, of any random shots of the games/events that we've played or gone through. Thereafter, there was a repeat of such, when I was a GL, where due to management problems, there were no photographers for the entire camp, and therefore, all-in-all I have no memories of my own Freshie days nor my own Freshies or memories to laugh at when I look back.
As I rose in ranks to further assist and manage the camp, I had made a promise to myself, that I would make all efforts in adverting what had happened to me, and bringing Great photo memories of every FOC Camp that I attended, to all the CREW and Freshies who have joined, which brings me back every single year, for the past 7-8 years, and thus owning the "Most Senior LaoJiao" position in camp.
Just Specially for this FOC 0910, I have made personally-paid purchases of equipment that amounts close to SGD$400, to prepare for the photography of this camp, which includes 3x Accelerated Battery Chargers, 22x Rechargeable Batteries, 12GB of Memory cards, 1.5TB of Backup HDD space, and a few others.
Despite all my efforts for the most perfect pictures taken for You, sadly, photos that taken on the 3rd Night (After Hop-Night) where all the 'sabotage' had taken place, as well as the more important Big Family Photos, were not retrievable due to a memory card failure. Though, in addition, I have personally forked out another SGD$110 to attempt to get it all back, but all in vain, after at least 8 attempts of different Data Recovery methods. (I will continue to attempt to seek out the other 2-3 photographers who were on-site, to get the photos from them).
I am deeply sadden and disappointed with the outcome, as I sincerely feel those are one of the more important and most memoriable chucks of photos that would bring much joy and laughter of the times we had all spent together at camp. Thus, I do hope you all would still hold on to those memories that were viewed through your eyes, either as a bystander, or an ally, or simply just the victim (Oops! Ha!), and have many memories to look back to, with me-to-you and with you-to-me
I do also hope you all would appreciate my effort, in bringing all these photos and videos to you, after sorting, filtering and uploading non-stop, of a total of 6.5GB of 3,653 photos and 162 videos, for the past 9-days, without charging you guys anything.
To end, I wish for you to cherish all these beautiful memories close to you and sincerely hope that you guys did had a awesome, unforgettable and enjoyable experience at Egypt and Ngee Ann Poly and do hope to see you guys come back for next year's NPSU.FOC.10/11, to continue the legacy of the FOC Spirit!
